Download New Mic Models

New Models for the Microphone Modeler Plug-in

Be sure to download the correct version of each mic model file for your computer. The Macintosh models are compatible with all of the Mac versions of the plug-in. The PC models are intended for the DirectX version.

Installing your new models

Each mic model consists of two files: the model file, which is named for the modeled mic, and a matching source mic file whose name also includes the name of the modeled mic with the addition of the suffix, "inv.

Once you have downloaded the files, they should be placed in the "Antares Models" folder. On Macintosh systems, this folder is located in the Preferences folder inside the System folder. On PC systems, this folder is located inside the same folder as the Microphone Modeler plug-in. The Antares Models folder in turn contains a "Modeled Mics" folder and a "Source Mics" folder. As is probably obvious, you should place the model mic file in the Modeled Mics folder and the source mic file (the one with the "inv" suffix) in the Source Mics folder.

New Models for the AMM-1

To add new models to your AMM-1 you will need a Mac or PC computer equipped with the following:

  • An application capable of opening and playing Standard MIDI Files (pretty much any MIDI sequencer should do the trick)
  • A MIDI interface (for transferring the data to the AMM-1)

The mic model files below are formatted as Standard MIDI Files. These AMM-1 Standard MIDI files hold System Exclusive (SysEx) messages, which in turn hold model data for the AMM-1.

Although Standard MIDI Files are a cross-platform format, for ease of file extraction you should download the version that matches your computer type. Once you've downloaded the file, open it in your MIDI sequencer and simply play it into your AMM-1 (making sure that you've first selected "Yes" on the Allow Downloads page). See Chapter 5 in your owners manual for more detailed information.
