Introducing Mic Mod EFX
Now the Mics You Own Can Sound Like the Mics You Wish You Owned

We're extremely pleased to announce the availability of Mic Mod™ EFX, a modern incarnation of our legendary Microphone Modeler plug-in. And while Mic Mod EFX is a tremendous value at its regular MSRP (in the USA) of $159.00, between now and the end of the year, your Antares dealer is offering Mic Mod EFX at a very special low introductory price. Check with your dealer for details.

Mic Mod Efx If you've ever wished for an extensive collection of exotic mics (but shuddered at the cost), then Mic Mod EFX is the plug-in for you.

Using our patented Spectral Shaping Tool™ technology, we've created precise digital models of a wide variety of historical classic and exotic microphones. Simply tell Mic Mod EFX what microphone you are actually using and what microphone you'd like it to sound like. It's as simple as that.

With over 125 microphone models included, you can afford to record every track through a model of the specific mic that will best produce that ideal sound you're looking for. Or use it in live performance to get the sound of mics you'd never consider using on stage. You can even use it during mixdown to effectively change the mic on an already recorded track.

Not only do the models reproduce all of the subtle sonic characteristics that make each microphone unique, but they also give you control of each mic's specific options. Does the mic have a low cut filter? If so, it's in the model. Wind screen on or off? Close or far placement? Each option results in the same sonic effect that it would have with the actual modeled mic. And for that final touch of perfection, you can even add some tasty tube saturation.

Mic Mod EFX is available now for VST (Mac and PC), RTAS (Mac and PC), and Audio Units (Mac).

Learn all about Mic Mod EFX, then download a fully functional time-limited trial version (iLok smart key and ilok.com account required) and try it out on your own projects. Then head on over to your local Antares dealer to get a copy of your own at a special low introductory price.

A Little History

When we released the original Microphone Modeler plug-in back in 2000, it won that year's TEC Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement in Software Signal Processing and garnered rave reviews from musicians, engineers, producers and the music industry press. A few examples:

"It proved to be an amazing and powerful tool to quickly enhance any mono source I could throw at it.... What it provides musicians and producers is an amazing sculpting and sweetening tool. This fact, and its sheer ease of use, earn it a Key Buy... Mic Modeler never ceased to amaze me."

- John Krogh, Keyboard, September 2000

"[My engineer Alan Meyerson] had experimented with the plug-in on the new Ridley Scott film Gladiator for composer Hans Zimmer, running the entire orchestra through Mic Modeler. For me, he was using the Mic Modeler for enhancing string samples.

All I can say is that the difference was profound and wonderful. Mic Modeler is becoming one of my favorite plug-ins to make everything sound more vibrant and interesting."

- Jeff Rona, Film Composer

"The affordable Microphone Modeler is a great tool for DAW-based personal studios with limited mic resources. It sounds great and is perfect for everything from mixing to tracking. Microphone Modeler definitely gets my vote as one of the most innovative plug-ins of the year."

- Eric Hawkins, Electronic Musician, October 2000

Now, Mic Mod EFX brings this same technology to a new generation of musicians and engineers, at a fraction of the cost of even a modestly lust-worthy mic.

But remember, that introductory price is only available until the end of the year, so don't delay.
