Currently available as a software plug-in for Mac and PC, the TEC Award-winning Microphone Modeler uses Antares's patented Spectral Shaping Tool (SSTª) technology to provide digital models of a wide variety of microphones, from historical classics to modern exotics. The user simply specifies what microphone they are actually using and what mic they would like it to sound like. Microphone Modeler then references the stored models of both the source and target mics and processes the input to create the sound of the desired mic. Likewise, Antares speaker modeling technology lets an engineer fine-tune their mix by letting any pair of reasonably wide-range monitors sound like any of a large variety of speakers, from hi-end studio monitors to home stereo, TV, car stereo, boom box and even computer speakers. The Antares/TASCAM partnership will result in both technologies being included as standard features of the DM-24. "The DM-24 is truly a breakthrough product in terms of price/performance," said Neil RiCharde, Antares's Vice President of Business Development. "We're thrilled to have our technology included as an integral part of it." Mike McRoberts, TASCAM's Product Development Manager stated, "Antares has established a position as one of the world leaders in innovative audio DSP. Their software is tremendously powerful yet very intuitive. We're extremely pleased to announce our partnership with Antares and proud to offer Antares Microphone and Speaker Modeling as part of the DM-24."
