Powered by the same core technology as Antares' professional standard Auto-Tune 7, Auto-Tune EFX 2 is the quickest, easiest-to-use tool for real-time pitch correction and creating the iconic Auto-Tune Vocal Effect. And now, with its new Auto-Motion™ Vocal Pattern Generation, you can add a variety of intricate musical patterns to your track for an entirely new (and sonically dramatic) vocal effect.
Designed to make almost everything automatic, Auto-Tune EFX 2 provides two different flavors of the iconic Auto-Tune Vocal Effect as well as Antares' world-renown real-time pitch correction. Just select your desired effect type, set the key and scale of your track, and Auto-Tune EFX 2 does the rest. For songs with complex chord progressions or modulations, you can optionally set up custom scales or use your host's automation facility to allow the processing of virtually any vocal line.
New in Auto-Tune EFX 2 is Auto-Motion Vocal Pattern Generation. Auto-Motion takes advantage of Auto-Tune's superb pitch-shifting ability to add intricate musical patterns to a vocal performance.
Pitch CorrectionLike Auto-Tune 7, Auto-Tune EFX 2's pitch correction works by continuously tracking the pitch of your vocal and comparing it to the notes in a (customizable) scale. The scale note closest to the input pitch is identified as the target note. If your vocal's pitch exactly matches the target note, no correction is applied. If your vocal's pitch varies from the target note, either sharp or flat, the output pitch is smoothly corrected to the target note.
Auto-Tune Vocal EffectThe Auto-Tune Vocal Effect is what is technically known as “pitch quantization.” Instead of allowing all of the small variations in pitch and the gradual transitions between notes that are a normal part of singing, the Auto-Tune Vocal Effect limits each note to an exact pitch, stripping out any variation, as well as forcing instantaneous transitions between notes.
Auto-Motion Vocal Pattern GenerationAuto-Motion Vocal Pattern Generation is a new effect that adds intricate musical patterns to a vocal performance. Patterns are selected from a built-in (and expandable) library in a variety of styles and can be synced to your host's tempo at various beat divisions. At any point in your vocal track, simply click the Auto-Motion Trigger button to send your vocal on a melodic adventure.
Here’s how easy it is.
For the Auto-Tune Vocal Effect or pitch correction:
Tell Auto-Tune EFX 2 the vocal range of your track:
Set the Key and Scale (major, minor, or chromatic) of your track:

When you select a Key and Scale, the appropriate Note buttons will light blue to indicate that they are in the scale and that the input vocal can be corrected or forced to those notes:
Depending on the specific vocal line, adding or removing scale notes can give you distinctly different results. Customize your scale by clicking on Note buttons to add or remove them from the scale.
Set the desired Effect Type:
Hard EFX is the iconic Auto-Tune Vocal Effect popularized by innumerable artists in virtually every genre of popular music.
Soft EFX is a variation of the Auto-Tune Vocal Effect that allows slight pitch variations and slightly less instant note transitions.
Pitch Correct provides high-quality, real-time correction of intonation problems, while preserving all the expressive nuance of the original performance.
For Auto-Motion Vocal Pattern Generation:
Choose from a varied selection of intricate vocal patterns.
Set the pattern style. Hard EFX and Soft EFX are similar to the equivalent effect types. Legato causes the notes of the pattern to glide smoothly from one to the next.
Set the pattern's tempo in either absolute BPM or sync it to your host's tempo at a variety of beat divisions and multipliers.
Trigger your pattern with a click of your mouse.

Create Your Own Auto-Motion Patterns
With Auto-Tune EFX 2, you're not limited just to our Auto-Motion patterns. Since Auto-Tune EFX 2's patterns are stored
in standard MusicXML format, you can use any application that can open and edit MusicXML files (and there are free open
source apps that can do that) to edit existing patterns and create entirely new patterns of your own. So your vocal
tracks can always feature your own unique Auto-Motion effects.
Details can be found in our "Updating, Editing and Creating Pattern Files" PDF document downloadable here.
