Choosing the correct key and scale for your music is an essential part of effective pitch correction. With Auto-Key, key detection and scale detection processes are made faster and easier than ever. Even if you already know your musical key and musical scales, Auto-Key streamlines your workflow by allowing you to set the key and scale for multiple instances of Auto-Tune (and Harmony Engine) with a single click.
This Auto-Key tutorial will show you how you can save valuable time in the studio, focus on your creativity, and produce vocals without limits.
How to Use Auto-Key
What Is Auto-Key?
Auto-Key is an automatic key detection and scale detection plug-in that’s designed to enhance your Antares Auto-Tune workflow and save valuable time in the studio. Auto-Key automatically detects the key and scale of your music and sends that information to one or more instances of Auto-Tune.
Auto-Key can analyze polyphonic (multi-voice) audio and determine its key. For that reason, we don’t recommend using Auto-Key directly on the vocal tracks you’re planning to process with Auto-Tune. Instead, place Auto-Key on tracks with pitched instruments (especially chordal instruments such as guitar or piano), on a sub-mix of pitched instruments or voices, or on the master output bus.
Who Is Auto-Key for?
Auto-Key is for artists, recording engineers, producers, or anyone who wants to manipulate the pitch of single-voice or polyphonic audio to create a natural (or unnatural) new sound. But Auto-Key isn’t limited to the studio. Taking your production on the go? Check out the Auto-Key Mobile app: Think of it as pitch correction in your pocket.
