AutoTune Advanced vs. AutoTune Pro 11: Which Workflow Is Right for You?
Read time: 5 mins
Now that Advanced is here, the question we get more than any other is what's the difference between Advanced and Pro 11. The short answer: Advanced is our flagship for automatic pitch correction, and Pro 11 is the home of manual pitch correction. They are built around two different ways of tuning a vocal, and the right choice comes down to which one matches how you actually work.
Choose AutoTune Advanced if you want the most capable automatic pitch correction we have built, with the patent-pending DVA™ vibrato preservation that keeps a vocal sounding natural, formant work you can use as a creative tool, and latency low enough to track and perform in real time.
Choose AutoTune Pro 11 if you tune by hand: drawing pitch in Graph Mode, editing note by note in sync with your DAW through ARA2, and building harmonies with Harmony Player.
Start With One Question: How Do You Tune?
The differences between these two plugins split into how vocal tuning gets done.
Auto Mode is vocal pitch correction that happens in real time, the moment the vocal passes through the plugin. You set a key and scale, tell the plugin how hard and how fast to correct, and it handles every note as it comes. It is fast, it works while you track, and it is how the overwhelming majority of tuned vocals get made.
Graph Mode is the manual side of the same job, where every decision is yours. You record the take, see its pitch drawn out in front of you, and shape individual notes by hand. It is precise, surgical hands-on work that only lives in Pro 11.
When Should You Choose AutoTune Advanced?
Advanced is built for people who tune in Auto Mode and want more control over how that correction sounds.
DVA, the new vibrato engine is the feature that headlines Advanced and detects the vibrato a singer meant to sing and protects it while everything around it gets corrected, so you can push the retune speed soft or hard, and the performance still breathes naturally. You can preserve that vibrato, narrow or widen it, cut or boost it, or generate vibrato where there is none using sine, square, saw, or triangle waves.
Three latency modes instead of one. Advanced adds a Live mode for ultra-fast real-time monitoring, reporting a plugin latency of 0.84 ms at 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz. It sits alongside Low Latency for responsive live and studio work, and High Quality for mix-ready fidelity, where Pro 11 runs a single Low Latency mode.
The Formant Designer. Advanced brings improved formant processing, with Transpose and Formant controls that now run a full ±12 semitones and can be linked so they move together, while Pro 11 handles the same job with Throat Length and Transpose.
A rebuilt correction engine. Advanced runs a rebuilt Modern algorithm that delivers our cleanest correction yet, with the most accurate pitch detection AutoTune has offered.
A faster way to build scales. Advanced puts key and scale editing on a redesigned 78-note Visual Keyboard, with Octave Sync to edit a note across every octave at once, plus MIDI Perform to map a hardware controller to any control in the plugin.
When Should You Choose AutoTune Pro 11?
Pro 11 is the home of manual pitch correction. If you want total control over a vocal, note by note, this is the AutoTune built for it.
Graph Mode. This is note-by-note manual pitch editing, where you draw the pitch curve yourself, fix a single problem syllable without touching the rest of the phrase, and set retune speed, vibrato, and formant for individual notes. Time correction tools sit right alongside pitch, so you can tighten timing without leaving the plugin. If you do detailed comping and repair work, or your clients expect hand-tuned vocals, this is the reason you own Pro 11.
ARA2 support. In Logic, Studio One, Cubase, and Nuendo, your vocal loads into Graph Mode instantly with no tracking pass, and the Graph Mode timeline moves in sync with your DAW. You spend less time setting up and more time tuning.
Harmony generation. You can build up to four harmony parts from a single performance inside the plugin, mix each one with its own formant, pan, and level, and trigger them over MIDI to play them like an instrument.

Which AutoTune Is Right for Your Workflow?
If you produce records and tuning is part of the sound you are known for, you are in Auto Mode nearly all the time, and how the automatic correction sounds matters as much as whether it lands in tune. That is exactly what Advanced is built for, and the patent-pending DVA is the reason.
If you are a mixing engineer or vocal editor, vocals arrive already tracked, and the job is to shape specific notes and phrases by hand without reprocessing the whole performance. That is manual pitch correction, and it is exactly what Pro 11 and Graph Mode are built for.
And if you track or monitor through AutoTune in real time, latency is the whole game, which makes Advanced the clear pick, since Live mode is built for exactly that.
Can You Run AutoTune Advanced and Pro 11 Together?
Yes. They cover different parts of the job, so they sit comfortably in the same session. Advanced on the vocals you tune in Auto Mode, Pro 11 on the tracks you want to edit by hand or build harmonies on.
Already own Pro 11? Keep it. Graph Mode and Harmony Player still live only in Pro 11, and nothing about Advanced changes that. Pro 11 has an Auto Mode too, but Advanced’s automatic engine is a ground-up rebuild, with the new Modern algorithm, DVA™ vibrato preservation, and Live mode for real-time tracking. The simplest way to think about it: use Advanced for everything you tune automatically and Pro 11 for everything you edit by hand. Pro 11 owners also get a loyalty offer on Advanced. Both Work With AutoKey 2
Whichever plugin you choose, AutoKey 2 works alongside it without any extra setup. Drop it on your master bus, detect the key and scale of the track, and send it to every AutoTune instance in your session at once.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between AutoTune Advanced and Pro 11?
Advanced is our flagship for automatic pitch correction, built deeper into Auto Mode than anything we have made. Pro 11 is the home of manual pitch correction, built around Graph Mode for note-by-note editing, with Harmony Player for in-plugin harmonies.
What does AutoTune Advanced have that Pro 11 does not?
Advanced adds the DVA vibrato engine, three latency modes including a Live mode for real-time monitoring, a rebuilt Modern correction algorithm, the Formant Designer with ±12 semitones of linked control, Creative Vibrato FX, and a redesigned 78-note Visual Keyboard.
What does AutoTune Pro 11 do that Advanced does not?
Pro 11 is the home of Graph Mode, where you edit pitch and timing by hand, note by note, with ARA2 support in Logic, Studio One, Cubase, and Nuendo. It also includes Harmony Player for building four-part harmonies from a single performance. If you do detailed manual tuning or vocal arrangement, that work happens in Pro 11.
Can I run AutoTune Advanced and Pro 11 together?
How do I get them, and is there a loyalty pricing offer?
Both are available as perpetual licenses or included with an AutoTune Unlimited subscription. If you already own Pro 11, you can take a loyalty offer on Advanced, and if you are new, a free trial of AutoTune Unlimited gives you both plus the full collection.
