What Makes AutoTune Advanced Different?
AutoTune Advanced is different because it starts with a completely rebuilt correction engine — one that handles hard tuning without artifacts — and adds DVA, an all-new vibrato engine exclusive to Advanced that preserves the natural movement in a voice even under aggressive correction.
We started with the feedback we hear most often from engineers, mixers, artists, and our own support team, and one request came up more than any other. When you crank correction hard and push level through the plugin, artifacts start to creep in and the take loses its life. So we rebuilt the Auto-Mode engine from the ground up to fix exactly that, and Advanced now delivers our cleanest correction yet, along with the most accurate pitch detection AutoTune has ever offered.
With the correction engine rebuilt and a stronger foundation than we have ever shipped, we had room to build something genuinely new on top of it.
DVA: Keep Your Vibrato Human
Vibrato is almost always where pitch correction gives itself away, because it is the most human thing a singer does with a note. Push the retune speed too far and the singer’s natural movement gets flattened into something rigid and mechanical.
DVA is an all-new vibrato engine, exclusive to AutoTune Advanced. Turn on Preserve and Advanced detects the vibrato the singer actually meant to sing, then protects it while everything else gets corrected. The result is vocal tuning that still breathes and remains as natural as you want it to be.
Beyond preservation, you get direct control over the shape of the vibrato itself:
- Narrow and Wide to tighten or open up the vibrato
- Cut and Boost to flatten it out or push it into something more dramatic
- A real-time vibrato visualizer that draws the shape of the vibrato as it is being sung, so you can see what DVA hears as it hears it

Creative Vibrato FX
If preserving vibrato is the default behavior in Advanced, then bending and breaking it is where the fun starts.
The redesigned creative Vibrato FX panel lets you generate vibrato where there is none, or exaggerate what is already there. Choose sine, square, saw, or triangle shapes, then dial in rate, attack, release, and variation. The visual display updates as you build the shape, so you can see exactly what is getting applied to the vocal.
Use it for a subtle lift on a held note, or push it all the way into territory that has no business sounding good and somehow does, because rules are optional here.
Live Latency Mode: Stay in the Moment
On stage, latency stops being a number on a spec sheet and turns into something you can actually hear and feel.
Even a small gap between what you sing and what comes back through your in-ears is enough to pull you out of a song. You start compensating for it without meaning to, listening to the monitor instead of the room and pulling your focus away from the performance. The audience may never know why, but they feel it when a performer is fighting their own rig instead of working the crowd.
Live Latency mode is built to take that off the table. It holds under 1 ms of latency from 44.1 kHz all the way up to 192 kHz, so when you are performing live or in studio, you’re not thrown off by latency.
That is the whole point of Live Latency mode, and it reflects something we have learned over decades of AutoTune being on stage. Built so the singer never has to think about it up there. Put it on, stop managing the technology, and stay connected to the song and the room.
The same advantage carries straight into the booth, which is where a lot of engineers will actually live with it day to day. Track with Live Latency mode engaged and you get that same immediacy while recording, then switch to High Quality when you move into the mix.
Between the stage, the tracking room, and the mix, Advanced gives you three monitoring modes, each built for a different job:

Formant Designer
The Formant Designer brings refined processing to one of the trickiest parts of vocal tuning, giving you the most natural sounding formant control we have shipped.
Transpose moves the pitch while Formant adjusts the apparent size and sound of the vocal, and both controls now run a full ±12 semitones. The two can also be linked so you move them together, a small change that makes a real difference in how quickly the edits go.
A Faster Way to Edit Scales
Advanced replaces the old scale editing workflow with a 78-note Visual Keyboard that puts every note right in front of you. Click to remove a note, bypass it, or re-tune it, with no menu digging required.
Turn on Octave Sync and any edit applies across every octave at once, so all the B’s or all the G’s update from a single click.
MIDI Perform behaves like a smarter version of MIDI learn, and it opens the plugin up to hands-on control. Map a hardware controller to any parameter in the plugin, including vibrato, retune speed, Humanize, and Flex Tune. Use it to write expressive automation in a mix, or to play the vocal effect in real time while you track.
