AutoTune 2026 delivers professional pitch correction without the complexity. In this tutorial video, mixing engineer Shane Thompson shows you everything you need to get polished and professional sounding vocal tracks. Check it out below:
Installation and Setup
Download AutoTune 2026 from your account in AutoTune Central and run the installer. Once installation is complete, AutoTune 2026 will be available for use as a plugin in your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW).
Getting Started with AutoTune 2026:
- Open a recording session in your DAW
- Insert AutoTune 2026 on a vocal track
- Select the Vocal Range
- Select the Key & Scale
Core Controls
Vocal Range Match this to your source (Soprano, Alto/Tenor, Baritone/Bass) for better pitch detection. Not sure what the vocal range is? Click the Auto Detect button and let AutoTune 2026 figure it out for you.
Key & Scale Set these first. AutoTune uses your song's key and scale to determine the correct pitches it should look for. Wrong settings mean the AutoTune may correct the wrong notes.
Not sure of your key? Use AutoKey 2 to automatically detect it and sync all AutoTune instances in your session.
Retune Speed Controls how fast AutoTune 2026 corrects pitch:
- 40-80ms: Natural, transparent correction
- 10-20ms: Noticeable but musical (modern pop/hip-hop)
- 0-5ms: The robotic "AutoTune effect"
Edit Notes Select a note to omit it from tuning
Low Latency vs. HQ (High Quality)
- Low Latency: Use while tracking or performing live
- HQ: Use during mixing for maximum audio fidelity
Modern Mode vs. Classic Mode
Modern Mode Transparent pitch correction with advanced controls:
- Flex Tune: Preserves natural vibrato and pitch variation. You can see how much Flex Tune is affecting your signal via the yellow indicator in the visual pitch display.
- Humanize: Leaves quick passing notes natural while correcting sustained pitches.
Use Modern Mode for pop, R&B, indie, country, rock, or any genre where correction should be felt, not heard.
Classic Mode Recreates AutoTune 5's aggressive, robotic character. This is the hard-tuned sound of T-Pain and Travis Scott. Use it when you want the effect to be obvious. Note: Classic Mode disables both Flex Tune and Humanize. To use those additional controls you must be in Modern Mode.
