The new Auto-Tune Pro X brings so many new features and improvements to the table, that it can be difficult to keep track of them all. We don’t want to pick favorites, but Graph Mode may be the coolest. It’s fast, easy, powerful, and will quickly become a key tool in your bag of audio engineering tricks.
Let’s take a deep dive into what makes Graph Mode so innovative.
Like Auto-Tune Pro, Auto-Tune Pro X has two distinct workflows: Auto Mode and Graph Mode. Auto Mode puts the “Auto” in Auto-Tune. Throw it on a track, turn a few knobs, and you’re good to go!
However, when you work in Graph Mode you take control of Auto-Tune Pro X’s full potential. The advanced editing tools in Graph Mode help bring your creative visions to life, down to the finest detail. While Auto Mode applies the same settings to an entire track, Graph Mode gives you the freedom to make precise adjustments to individual notes and phrases.
Let’s take a look at some before and after pictures to see how much Graph Mode has evolved from the previous versions.

The layout of Graph Mode has been thoughtfully redesigned to increase the clarity of functions and make the workflow more intuitive for new and experienced users alike. The dual rows of graph controls have been tidied up to a neat, single row for easy reference. The new line of controls follow the left to right “signal flow” paradigm to guide you through the recommended workflow.
Higher resolution graphics and a fresh new color scheme makes working with note objects easier than ever. The plug-in window is now resizable and 4K compatible, so the vector graphics stay looking sharp no matter what size of window you are working in. With this super-crisp resolution, you’ll be able to make easier edits on the granular level.
Auto-Tune Pro X also cleaned up the Main Graph workspace to make it a more welcoming work environment. Largely, this meant reducing information overload by turning a handful of notifications and features off by default. But don’t worry, power users, we didn’t forget about you! We were careful not to remove any settings or preferences in Auto-Tune Pro X.
Check out the newly reorganized Preferences Window:

Sharp eyes will note the missing the Red Input Pitch Lines or the Dual Waveform view in the Waveform Graph that was in previous versions. In the new Auto-Tune Pro X, just hop over to the shiny new Preferences menu to reconfigure the plug-in’s default settings, and tailor Graph Mode to your unique workflow. Easy and done! And you’ll only have to do this once if you click ‘Save as Default’.
Next, let’s take a tour through the new and improved Graph Mode workflow:
Step 1: Track Audio

First things first; we need some audio to work with. Simply click on the Track Pitch or Track Pitch + Time Button, then start playback in your DAW. When you stop playback, tracking will halt, and the audio you played back will load into Graph Mode.
Step 2: Create Correction Objects

After tracking audio, Correction Objects will be created automatically. You can select which kind of correction objects are created in the Graph Mode Preferences Window.
Alternatively, the Create Curves and Create Notes buttons can generate correction objects based on the tracked audio or your Auto Mode settings. This can be a great starting point for further edits in Graph Mode.

For a more hands-on approach, you can use the Draw Tools to manually create Line, Curve, or Note Objects.
Step 3: Edit Correction Objects

Now that we’ve tracked audio and created some correction objects to work with, it’s time for the fun stuff. Use the Editing Tools to move Note Objects around, fine-tune the shape of Curves, and more.
Step 4: Make Time Edits

Have you ever recorded an awesome take, only to find out the vocalist was just a little off tempo? The Time Correction tools are here to save the day! Use the Point or Region functions to adjust the timing of individual notes or phrases.
Step 5: Per Object Controls

The last stop on our journey through Graph Mode is the Per Object Control section. These tools allow you to assign individual notes or phrases their own Retune Speed, Vibrato, and Formant settings.
Now that you’re a Graph Mode pro, it’s time to get started. Get your hands on Auto-Tune Pro X for FREE with a subscription to Auto-Tune Unlimited.
